Are they afraid o...What is wrong with these people. Are they afraid of their own citizens? A handgun in the possession of an honest person is not a threat. In the possession of a criminal it is. So who does the law penalize? The honest person of course. What harm is there for a normal person keeping a handgun in the house for protection? Does the Irish Government think that having a gun will drive a person to commit crimes? If so then the police and armed forces need to be disarmed.
