Barack Obama lambasted John McCain for his stated desire to tax health insurance benefits. And now, he wants to do exactly the same thing.
Here is a direct quote from Barack Obama on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 in in a television ad. "John McCain's health care plan "leaves you on your own to pay McCain’s health insurance tax." It was a horrible tax when McCain wanted it, but now when he wants it, its another urgent crisis to be met by Obama's brilliance.
The exclusion health care from income tax is your biggest tax benefit. There are hundreds of billions of dollars in potential government revenue waiting to be stripped from collective American pockets.
Obama's latest pickpocketing is an effort to be "fairer and more equitable" for everyone in order to fund "free" national healthcare for us. It has the potential to force many who have health insurance into bankruptcy. In the case of those with serious medical problems, who can stand an additional tax hit of $4,200.00 for repair of a torn ACL, or $8,400.00 for your insurance payment for a heart stent, or additional tax of $16,800 owed to Obama in case of heart bypass surgery.
This thinly veiled tactic is to force Americans to rush to Obama's national health insurance and put private insurers out of business. But, Obama probably intends to tax national health care benefits too.
Here's another proverbial Obama shoe that gun owners are waiting to be dropped on their heads by him. Quoting Obama on Sept. 9, 2008: I don't want any misunderstanding when you all go home, and you're talking to your buddies, and they say, "Aw, he wants to take my gun away." You've heard it here; I'm on television, so everybody knows it. I believe in the Second Amendment. I believe in people's lawful right to bear arms. I will not take your shotgun away. I will not take your rifle away. I won't take your handgun away. ... There are some common-sense gun safety laws that I believe in. But I am not going to take your guns away. So if you want to find an excuse not to vote for me, don't use that one. ... It just ain't true."
What "ain't true" today will become policy with Obama tomorrow. What he says on television on any given day does not make those words truth and policy tomorrow. This quintessential politician believes Americans don't remember. He can't separate lies from truth. But our computers indelibly remember his words.
